Kile and BKR Capture Top-Five

Finish at Talladega

Mooresville, NC –  Mikey Kile, coming off a 12th-place finish at Martinsville in the Camping World Truck Series, returned to racing action this past weekend in the No. 29 Greased Lightning Cleaning Products Chevrolet. 

Kile, a Westlake, La., native, in the Brad Keselowski Racing entry, finished his career-best fourth in only his second series start. 

After his disappointing debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Daytona, Kile was able to take the knowledge he gained there turn it into a solid run at Talladega. 

“I am very pleased with how our day went,” said Kile. “The car was awesome, I can’t say enough about the Hendrick motors, together with the support of JR Motorsports and having Greased Lightning on board, we have all the necessary elements for a successful season, and I think we are well on our way.

Starting 14th, Kile and his team, led by crew chief Wayne Setterington, Jr., were pleased with their qualifying efforts and felt that had what it took for a top-five finish. 

“Mikey’s got a lot of talent and Talladega was just the place for it to be showcased,” said Setterington, Jr.  “He did a superb job, watching him come back through the field after being assessed a penalty for speeding on pit road was just amazing.”

Next on tap for Kile and the BKR team is the Drive Smart Buckle-UP Kentucky 150 at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday, May 9.
