Bittersweet Day for
Kile at Pocono
Concord, N.C. –  enturini Motorsports driver Mikey Kile got off to
a fast start for the running of the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper
200 at Pocono Speedway this past weekend.

Kile, driver of the No. 25 Sears Auto Center/DieHard Toyota, posted
quick time practice and grabbed the Menards Pole Award with a fast
lap of 53.870 seconds at 167.069 mph.

Kile quickly proved his Toyota wasn’t a one-lap wonder, leading the
first 36 laps around the tricky, triangular-shaped track. After cycling
through the pits, Kile quickly retook the lead on Lap 41.

“The car was on a rail,” said Kile. “I could do just about anything I
wanted to with it.”

Unfortunately, Kile couldn’t do anything about a late-race caution that cost him the lead.

Eventual winner Craig Goess pitted before the caution came out and inherited the lead when Kile came to pit road. Kile made an attempt to slip past Goess on the final restart, but he was unable to clear Goess and had to settle for second place.

“Sears Auto Center and DieHard came on board with us this week, and we were really hoping to get a win for them,” said Kile. “We definitely had the car to win the race, but that last caution didn't help. We had the fastest car, and it couldn’t have looked better out there. We’ll regroup and carry some of this momentum into in Michigan.”

Late last month Kile participated in the open test in Michigan posting the overall fastest times with a lap of 39.430 seconds (182.602 mph)
